RESTAURANTS

For our restaurant and other food preparation clients we have been using a gel which has an active ingredient (hydramethylnon) which is non volatile and has relatively low toxicity, and is physically contained in small cracks, crevices and voids that harbour cockroaches and leaves your kitchen free of unsightly baits.  It can be adhered to any clean surface at any angle – flat, vertical or inverted.  That means no food contamination and no respiratory problems, even in sensitive places such as nursing homes.  We can come and treat your premises while you are setting up for the day, therefore not disrupting you from your business and saving everyone time.  The gel maximises insect contact because the formula is non-repellent, and indeed highly attractive to insects. After a single feeding by target insects, there are no immediate symptoms of poisoning.  Within a few hours, however, the insects become lethargic and stop eating.  This condition progresses until the insects die within 24 to 72 hours.  It allows just enough time for insects to carry the gel back to the nest, where secondary kill (Domino Effect) magnifies primary kill effects.  Tests show that one cockroach can cause the death of up to 44 other cockroaches.  The delayed-action of the hydramethylnon works well with the natural behaviour of these pests as it allows foraging workers to return to the colony ith the bait before they are killed. ALTIS

We also have an alternative to ALTERM called ALTIS.  ALTIS is an Anti-Termite Irrigation System which is designed to effectively treat the area beneath slab-on-ground construction, for protection against infestation by subterranean termites.  Altis is installed prior to laying of the concrete slab for the internal system or prior to paving where it is to be used for the external system.  All under slab injections of termiticide are carried out by way of a series of emitter pipes that are installed both sides of the footings.  Application is by means of a flow emitter pipe designed to give even and equal chemical distribution at very low pressure.  

The unique difference in the Altis system is that the pipes are laid over perforated plastic membrane, beneath the builders membrane.  In this way chemical is distributed evenly and does not risk an untreated area which may allow opportunities for termites to enter.

The Altis system is an environmentally friendly and safe way to apply chemicals beneath your building.  Chemicals are applied following the pouring of the slab.  Advantages include:

No spray drift which may endanger workers, occupants or pets.

The injection process allows for re-application of termiticide at any time in the future.  As new improved chemicals become available, retreating can take advantage of the latest advances.

As with all our various treatments, Altis complies with Australian standard 3660.1, being for the protection of new buildings from Subterranean termites.  Long term termite protection will be a comfort for new owners at resale times, and builders are seen to be exercising their duty of care when offering a system with long term advantages that Altis provide, and can offer a sales benefit to new buyers!
